Terms of Service

Article 1 (Scope)

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of Gnit (“the Service”). By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  • “The Service” refers to the physics contest platform provided by Gnit.
  • “User” refers to any individual who has registered an account with the Service.
  • “Contest” refers to a competitive physics event held on the Service.

Article 3 (Account Registration)

  1. Users must provide accurate information when registering an account.
  2. Account authentication uses an external authentication service designated by the operator.
  3. Users are responsible for managing their account credentials appropriately.
  4. Sharing or transferring accounts is prohibited.

Article 4 (Prohibited Activities)

Users must not engage in the following activities:

  • Cheating during contests (sharing answers or methods with others, using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, consulting textbooks or reference materials, searching the web, or using any automated tools to generate answers)
  • Actions that place excessive load on the Service's servers
  • Harassment or defamation of other users
  • Actions that interfere with the operation of the Service
  • Actions that violate laws or public order and morals
  • Actions that breach the security of the Service (e.g., exploiting vulnerabilities)
  • Manipulating rankings through the creation of multiple accounts

Article 5 (Contest Rules and Penalties)

  1. Answers must be submitted in the format designated by the operator (positive integers).
  2. Judging is based on exact match; no tolerance is permitted.
  3. Answers may only be submitted during the contest period.
  4. Deviation scores and rankings are automatically calculated after the contest ends.
  5. If a violation of Article 4 (including cheating) is discovered, the operator may invalidate the user's contest results and, without prior notice, suspend or delete the account.

Article 6 (Intellectual Property)

Intellectual property rights in contest problems, editorial articles, and other content on the Service belong to the operator or the respective rights holders. Users may not reproduce or republish such content without permission for any purpose other than personal study.

Article 7 (Exclusion of Anti-Social Forces)

Users represent and warrant that they do not belong to, and have no relationship with, any organized crime group or other anti-social force.

Article 8 (Disclaimer)

  1. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of fitness for any particular purpose.
  2. The operator is not liable for service interruptions due to server issues or maintenance.
  3. The operator bears no responsibility for disputes between users.

Article 9 (Service Changes and Termination)

The operator may modify or discontinue the Service without prior notice. The operator is not liable for any damages incurred by users as a result.

Article 10 (Amendments to the Terms)

The operator may amend these Terms. Amended Terms take effect when posted on the Service.

Article 11 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.

Article 12 (User-Submitted Content)

  1. Users may submit original physics problems (“Submitted Content”) to the operator via the problem submission form.
  2. Copyright in Submitted Content remains with the submitter. The submitter grants the operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to publish, display, and make minor edits to the content on the Service.
  3. The submitter warrants that the Submitted Content is their own original work and does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party.
  4. The operator may determine the suitability for publication at its sole discretion; reasons for acceptance or rejection will not be disclosed.
  5. Accepted problems may have their difficulty, category, or problem statement slightly edited at the operator's discretion.
  6. The author's display name (as provided by the submitter) will appear on the problem page. Real names and handles are both acceptable.
